Appraisals

The gallery offers written appraisals for insurance purposes as well as free informal evaluations of historical American Art and antique American Indian art.

Our knowledgeable staff has been appraising fine art for a combined total of almost 100 years. The gallery has been performing appraisals for over 35 years and, in addition to our private and corporate clientele, we work extensively with a number of prominent institutions locally and nationwide including the Denver Art Museum, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, the Buffalo Bill Cody Museum and more.

We appraise only items which are in keeping with the gallery's focus:

FINE ART APPRAISALS -  historical regional art from Colorado, New Mexico, California, Kansas and the American Southwest.

AMERICAN INDIAN ART APPRAISALS - Native American antiques (pre 1950s) from North America including Plains bead and quill work, Southwestern baskets and pottery, Navajo and Pueblo textiles, Northwest Coast objects, Parfleche and more.

If you are interested in obtaining an appraisal, we recommend that you start by emailing us digital images and as much of the following information as possible: dimensions (height x width, excluding the frame where applicable), the age, tribe, title, any notations which may be on the front or back and any known history on the piece (where you acquired it and when, etc.)  With this information, we can determine if your object(s) fit within our scope and, if not, we may refer you to an appropriate appraiser.  There is no fee for this evaluation, the only time we charge is if a formal written appraisal is requested.  Further, should you opt to have a formal written appraisal, the fee will be refunded in full if, at any point in the future, you opt to sell the object(s) through the gallery.

Appraisals can be performed entirely online, however, if you are local to the Denver area, we prefer to see objects in person prior to offering a formal written appraisal.  Our appraisal experts are often on location outside the gallery or assisting clients.  For this reason and, because your time is valuable, please contact us PRIOR to visiting the gallery for an appraisal.

To schedule an appointment or to discuss your appraisal needs, Please contact us at 303-623-8181 and he will gladly put you in contact with the appropriate expert.

We look forward to assisting you.
