Pikes Peak Vision: The Broadmoor Art Academy, 1919-1945

A survey of the art of the Broadmoor Academy/Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center with a timeline and biographies on the artists associated with the Academy.  A key resource for anyone seeking to learn more about the art colony at Colorado Springs.

An excerpt fromt he book:

"The Colorado-related work of the teachers and students of the Broadmoor Art Academy has been overlooked in a number of cases.  This is a consequence of the American art climate of the 1950s and 1960s and of the altered art education activities of the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center during the same period.  Nevertheless, the work of the Academy's teachers and students deserves to be reintroduced to the public.  It will augment their oeuvre already recorded in other parts of the United States.  Additionally, their Colroado work is important both from the standpoint of the state's cultural development and from the burgeoning art history of the American West."
