An exceptional early Trading Post era rug with pictorial elements including crosses and diamond motifs. Expertly woven by a Native American (Navajo) weaver for the Ganado Trading Post (founded by John Lorenzo Hubbell at Ganado, Arizona, in 1876). Woven of native hand spun wool in natural fleece colors of gray or brown, ivory or white and brown or black with aniline red.
